07-13-1965 (City Council) Minutes 100 COU':CIL =TING July 13, 1965 The City Council met in regular session at 7:00 PM July 13, 1965. Present: Mayor Hamoton. Aldermen: Shields, Wingfield, St. John & Miller. City Atty. John Gay. City Adm. Jack Whitt. City Secy. Oneida Gallagher. Alderman Onstot, absent, on vacation. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hampton. The minutes of the last regular meeting of June 8, 1965 and also the special meeting of June 28, 1965 were read andapproved as read on a motion by Councilma Miller and seconded by Councilman Shields . ',lotion carried. Bills were read and approved to be paid on a motion by Councilman St. John and seconded by Councilman Miller. Motion carried. Fire Chief R. M. Moore; Firemen: McCormick, Hatfield and Montgomery met Council in reference to a new Fire Truck. Motion by Councilman St. John and seconded by Councilman Miller to advertise for bids on Fire Truck and pay for it with Warrants . Unanimous Ayes. Bids on 3rd Street w,:re discussed. Final dicision to accept Chambers Bros. bid. There were four bids as follows: C. A. Daniel Co. $ 3.90 per lin ft. 1.30 each side. Total bid $4,816.50 C. C. Roddy .48 per lin ft. 1.16 each side. Total bid 4,297.80 Joe Williams & Son 4.05 per lin ft. 1.35 each side. Total bid 5,001.75 Chambers Bros . 2.99 Per lin ft. 1.05 each side. Total bid 3,702.90 -..., Roy Straight, Civil Engineer for the Wylie North East Water Supply Corp. met with the Council and explained the Corp. and its desire to tap into the McKinney Supply Line of the North Texas Municipal Water District. Under a water district ruling, 'permission of the City closest to the tap site is necessary. After a short discussion, Motion by Councilman Miller and seconded by Councilman Wingfield to employ an Atty. to check legal aspects of pro- tection in and for the City of Wylie and draw a letter of agreement to North Texas Municipal 'eater District giving permission for the Water tap. On the question; Unanimous Ayes . The Council ask that Mr. Whitt advertise for bids on First Street, Marble, Jefferson, College, Birmingham and Jackson Streets. Motion to adjourn by Councilman Miller and seconded by Councilman St.John. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned. /ice Mayor City Secretary
