02-14-1967 (City Council) Minutes REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
February 14, 1967
The City Council met in regular session February 14, 1967 at 7 : 06 PM.
Roll call answering present: Mayor Hampton, Aldermen: Shields, Posey
Wingfield and Tibbals , City Atty. John Gay, City Bondsman Medanich,
and City Adm. Jack Whitt and Oneida Gallagher City Secretary absent
and excused.
Meeting was cal ed to order and minutes of last regular session of
January 10, 1967 were approved as read on a motion by Alderman Posey
and seconded by Alderman Tibbals . Motion carried.
Monthly bills were reviewed following due consideration a: discussion
were ordered paid on motion by Alderman .Douth itt and seconded- by •
Alderman Wingfield. Unanimous Ayes .
Council noted February 21st 1967 meeting of Region 13 of the Texas
Municipal League to be held at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel, Dallas, Tex
at 7 : 00 PM. Mayor, all Aldermen,, City Adm, & City Judge to attend.
Mr. Frank edan I,' ich, 1st Southwest Co. Bondsman for the City of Wylie
presented information in reference to 1�50,000.00 Street Improvement
Bond to cor_iplete the streets of Wylie . For these additional n5onds
a required valuation of ;4,325, 000.00 at a percentage increase of 9%
will be necessary to provide income necessary to retire principle and
interest over a 25 year period of time . After due consideration and
discussion Mr. Medanich was requested to present necessar papers to
facilitate election procedure to be carried out on April L}th at the
next regular meeting to be held March lei, 1967 on a motion by Alderman
Posey and seconded by Alderman Shields. On the question Unanimous Ayes .
Water and Sewer e.xteneion to School was discussed. After much d;liberst-
ion it was the contention (1 ) That the School pay for the material
estimated at 46000.00 and Municipal Employees would make the installation.
(2) Accurate cost to be kept and City to have first right of return
on their expenditure forever and School have right of return second to
City for a period of five (5) years . This information to be supplied •
to the School Board by City Administrator and if acceptable, work to
commence immediately.
Council adjourned at 9:10 PM. on a motion by Alderman Wingfield and
seconded by Alderman Shields . On the question, Unanimous Ayes .
