05-09-1967 (City Council) Minutes I REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING May 9, 1967 The City Council met in regular session May 9, 1967, at 7:00 P. M. Present Mayor Hampton. Aldermen: Tibbals, Douthitt, Martin, Mauk and Elledge. City Adm. Jack H. Whitt and City Secy. Oneida Gallagher. City Atty. John Gay absent. The meeting was called to order by Mayor liampton. The minutes of the last regular meeting of April 11, 1967 were read and approved as read on a motion by Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Douthitt. Motion carried. Bills were read and approved to be paid on a motion by Alderman Martin and seconded by Alderman Mauk. Motion carried. Ordinance No 67-1. An Ordinance prohibiting the consumption of alcholic beverages on any street, Alley or other public place ad- jacent to a public street or alley in the City of Wylie, providing for the arrest without warrant of persons violating the terms of this Ordinance; providing for a penalty for violation of this Ordinance; providing for the publication of the Caption of this Ordinance . Move the Ordinance passed on an Emergancy Clause by Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Elledge. Unanimous Ayes. J. R. Story and Clyde Parker met with Council in reference to build- ing an all metal warehouse behind their Hardware Store. After much discussion, a motion to grant a varance for building by Alderman Douthitt and seconded by Alderman Elledge. Unanimous Ayes. $50,000.00 Street Improvement Bonds alternates of retirement were discussed and after due consideration motion was made by Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Martin to retire the Principal Commencing in 1969 as opposed to commencing in 1981. On the quest- ion Unanimous Ayes. Motion to adjourn at 9:3; O'Clock by Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Mauk. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned. r6 May City Secretary
