REGULAR COUNCIL METING - ; ) I
May 14, 1966
The City Council met in regular session May 14, lybb at 7:OU PM. Present
Mayor R. J. Hall; Aldermen; Tibbals, Elledge, Mauk, Martin and Cline.
City Manager Jack Whitt, City Secy. Oneida Gallagher and City Atty.
John Gay.
Minutes of the last regular meeting and also the minutes of the Spacial
meeting of April 15, lybb were read and approved as read on a motion by
Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman Elledge. Motion carried.
Bills were read and discussed and approved to be paid on a motion by
Alderman Martin and seconded by Alderman Cline. Motion carried.
Motion by Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman Elledge, Alderman Harry
Tibbals, Jr. be appointed Mayor Pro-Tem. Unanimous Ayes.
Mayor Hall made these appointments: City Attorney, John Gay. Chief of Police
Archie Hatfield, City Judge A. J. McClure, City Secretary, Treasure, Tax
Assessor Collector and Clerk of the City Court, Oneida Gallagher. Director
of the North Texas Municipal Water District, C. Truett Smith. Planning
and Zoning Bord, ; R. D. Onstot, C. B. Martin, Frank McMillian, Charles
Taylor and D. R. Thomas.
All for a period of two (2) years, except Chief of Police for a period of
one (1) year.Motion by Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Elledge
all appointments designated oy Mayor be approved subject to investigation
of the office of Chief of Police, on which report is requested by next
regular Council meeting. Aldermen; Tibbals, Elledge, Mauk and Martin
voted YES. Alderman Cline voted NO.
Mayor Hall said he would be a delegate to North Central Texas Council
of Governments.
Council on a motion by Alderman Cline and seconded by Alderman Martin
for Mayor Hall and City Manager Jack Whitt to buy a new mower and used
tractor somewhere between $15u0.uO and $2000.00. To trade in old Allis
Chalmers Grader for $300.uU. Motion carried.
On motion by Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Martin to proceed
on trade with Browning Ferris Machine Company to rework the Ausin Western
Street Sweeper to Council' s satisfaction.
Street Sweeper is to have usual guarantee and must perform satisfactorily
and as represented, to pay a sum of $4000.00 for the machine. On the
question, Unanimous Ayes.
Motion to adjourn by Alderman Elledge and seconded by Alderman Mauk.
Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
