REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
June 11, 1968
The City Council met in regular session June 11, 1968 at 7:00 PM. present: AMR'
Mayor Hail; Aldermen, Tibbals, Elledge, Mauk, Martin and Cline. City
Manager Jack Whitt, City Secretary Oneida Gallagher. City Atty John Gay
absent.
Minutes of the last regular meeting of May 14, i9b6 were read and approv-
ed as read on a motion by Alderman Elledge and seconded by Alderman Cline.
Motion carried.
General Telephone Representatives met with Council to inform them a strike
vote was coming up which would encompass Wylie, Garland and Plano. In-
volving inadequate pay scale. City Council considerate but no action
taken or promised.
Mr. James Carroll met with Council in reference to possible appointment of
study committee for beautification and clean up of City; opening of drain-
age ditch serving the area in which he lives; andpossible City participa-
tion in proposed sewer line to serve the area in which he lives . Mayor
informed Mr. Carroll presently had some equipment to aid Chamber of
Commerce clean up, fix up, paint up campaign; ditch wbul' be cleaned out;
sewer line would be taken under consideration.
Mr. Rowland Kreymer met with Council in reference to drainage problem
corner Jefferson and Second streets. Mayor said he would examine soon
as possible and obtain results.
Bilis were read and discussed and approved to be paid on a motion by
Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman Martin. Motion carried.
Mayor Hall reported his investigation of Chief of Police Hatfield, to
Council. Council on motion by Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman
Elledge affirmed appointment of Chief Hatfield by Mayor Hall. Motion
carried.
City Manager Jack Whitt informed Council he would attend Texas City
Managers meeting at Corpus Christi, June 23rd thru June 26th.
Motion to adjourn at 9:100 PM by Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alder-
man Tibbals. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
