REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
August 13, 1968
The City Council met in regular session August 11, 1968, at 7:00 P.M.
Present; Mayor Hall; Aldermen Tibbals, Elledge, artin, and Cline. City
Atty. John Gay, City Manager Jack Whitt and City Secretary Oneida Gallagher
Alderman Mauk Absent.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hall. The minutes of the last
regular meeting of July 9, 1968 and also the Special meeting of August 7,
1968 were read and approved as read on motion by Alderman Elledge and
seconded by Alderman Cline . Motion carried.
Monthly bills were read and discussed, motion to be paid by Alderman
Ma-tin and seconded by Alderman Tibbals. Motion carried.
Mrs . W. C. Martin met with Council in reference to water drainage on
Kirby St. Council advised Mrs . artin the drainage would be corrected
with the Street Improvement.
J. A. Jones met with Council in reference to an easement for the 8 feet
in the alley on lot lA-Block 23 Railroad Addn. The matter was discussed
by Council and decided it was not feasable to grant an easement. Motion
by Alderman Cline and seconded by Alderman Elledge. Unanimous Ayes.
Mr. Geo. Webb Sr. met with Council in reference to moving his old house
and moving a new one in on Birm. St. It is now in I-I Light Industry.
He assured the Council if at any time any one wanted to build Light In-
dustry there he woul sell and move. On motion by Alderman Cline and se-
conded by Alderman Tibbals, Council would grant a varance with reser-
vations of Zoning Commission. Unanimous Ayes.
Agreement with Texas Hiway Department in cooperation with the City of
Wylie, in reference to N. Ballard, N. of Brown St. to present City Limits
to be designated as F M 2514 was read and discussed. Motion by Alderman
Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Martin that City participate in the pro-
ject as outlined and deposit with State Treasurer $8,200.00 with the
understanding that this figure could be more or less than Wylie' s share.
On the question Unanimous Ayes.
The Council ask Atty Gay for an Ordinance regulating the keeping and
possessing livestock within the corporate limits of the City of Wylie.
On motion duly made by Alderman Elledge and seconded by Alderman Cline,
Carried Unanimously, the Resolution and Confirmation Deed, was adopted•
A twenty (20) ff 'et strip of land lying between the East line of lots 69
and 68 and the West line of lots 60 and 61 in Blk. 11 Brown and Burns
Addn. to the City of Wylie, Texas, said twenty feet extending South from
Brown St. to the South lines of lots 68 and 61 belonging to J. W. Edwards
and wife Esther Edwards .
Motion by, Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Martin to adjourn
at 9:15. Motion carried.
