09-10-1968 (City Council) Minutes 160 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING September 10, 1968 The City Council met in regular session September 10, 1968, Present Mayor Hall; Aldermen; Elledge, Martin, Tibbals, Cline and Mauk. City Atty. John Gay, City Manager Jack H. Whitt and City Secretary Oneida Gallagher. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hall. Reading of minutes of regular meeting of August 13, 1968 and also minutes of special meeting after due notice of August 29, 1968 approved on a motion by Alderman Tibbals seconded by Alderman Martin. Motion carried. Mayor Hall read a letter he wrote to Hiway Department about the new Street on N. Ballard. The Hiway Depart. ask for additional $1800.00, bringing total in Escrow to $10,000.00. He also read Mr. Ervin R. Anderson' s reply, stating the books were open for any one to see. Bills were read and approved to be paid on motinn by Alderman Cline seconded by Alderman Mauk. Motion carried. Ordinance 68-7 An Ordinance fixing the tax rate and levy in and for the City of Wylie, Texas, for the fiscal year 1968, upon all taxable property for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1969. On motion by Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman Martin; 50% of Actual Value and $11.50 on each one hundred dollars ( 100.00) of assed. valuation was levied. On question, Unanimous Ayes . Ordinance 68-8 An Ordinance adopting Budget and appropriating resources for the Budget year beginning October 1, 1968 and ending September 30,, 1969. Motion by Alderman Elledge and seconded by Alderman Mauk the athe proposed Budget for 1968-1969, totalling 0168,818.00 be adopted. On question Unanimous Ayes . Ordinance 68-9 An Ordinance prescribing water rates for local residents (within City Limits ) and area residents (outside City limits ) of Wylie Texas . The City of Wylie, Texas, hereby establishes the following water service rates effective October 1, 1968, for local residernts (within City limits ) : Minimum to 2,000 Gallons $3.00 2,000 to 10,000 Gallons ( per thousand) .75 10,000 to 50,000 .50 All over 50,000 4,40 The City of Wylie, Texas, hereby establishes the following water service rates effective October 1, 1968, for extended area re- sidents ( outside City limits ) : Minimum to 2,000 Gallons $5.00 2,000 to 10,000 Gallons (per thousand) 1;00 All over 10,000 Gallons ,75 1 (44 Minutes of September Continued; Passed and approved on a motion by Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Cline . Unanimous Ayes. Motion by Alderman Elledge and seconded by Alderman Mauk to move the Judges Office to the Police Station. Motion carried. A short discussion was held in reference to the possibility of and Auxilliary Police Force. City Manager was ask by Council to check on the Liability Insurance involved and also with the Texas Municipal League regarding similar organizations in other Cities prefereably in Wylie' s population category.
