10-08-1968 (City Council) Minutes REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
October 8, 1968
The City Council met in regulatt session October 8, 1968 at 7:00 PM.
Present: Mayor Hall; Aldermaen, Cline, Elledge, Tibbals, Martin and
Mauk; City Atty John Gay, City Manager Jack Whitt and City Secy.
Oneida Gallagher.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hall. Minutes of the last re-
gular meeting of Sept. 10, 1968 were approved as read on a motion by
Alderman Mauk and seconded by AldermanMartin. Motion carried.
Mr. Dick Cole met with Council to present brochure to participate in the
Dallas-Ft. Worth Metropolitan Telephone calling plan served by General
Telephone Co. After reading and discussing matter with Mr. Cole the
Council on motion by Alderman Cline and seconded by Alderman Elledge
to accept General Telephone' s Metro Plan. Unanimous Ayes .
Thomas Lemons met with council in reference to levy of Street Assess-
ment on his City Tax. The Council told Mr. Lemons that was an
Ordinance passed by the City Council.
Ordinance 68-10
Ordinance approving and adopting estimate of costs of improvements and
of amounts to be assed on protions of various streets in the city of
Wylie, Texas, said streets being outlined in an appendix to this Ord-
inance and making assessment of costs. Motion by Alderman Elledge and
seconded by Alderman Martin. Unanimous Ayes.
Bills were read discussed and approved to be paid on motion by Alderman
Martin and seconded by Alderman Cline. Motion carried.
City Judge, J. A. McClure was discussed and tabled until a later date .
Meeting to adjourn at 9:15, Motion by Alderman Tibbals and seconded
by Alderman Martin. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.

RESOLUTION
Whereas the City of �;% ® �- wishes to be able to call other
telephone exchanges within the Dallas Metropolitan Area on a flat rate
basis; and, whereas, General Telephone Company of the Southwest has
presented a plan which would permit such calling scope; and, whereas
the additional investment required to provide such service will necessitate
special rates for such service; now, therefore, be it resolved by the
City Council of the City of Ajf<49: :
That it participate in such metropolitan telephone plan as proposed by
General Telephone Company of the Southwest; and, that it pass a rate
ordinance when the metropolitan plan has been approved by all eligible
participating cities setting forth the following schedule of rates:
