REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
January 14, 1969
The City Council met in regular session January 14, 1969 at 7:00 PM.
Present: Mayor Hall; Aldermen Elledge, Mauk, Tibbals and Martin. City
Atty. John Gay, City Manager Jack H. Whitt and City Secretary Oneida
Gallagher.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hall. Reading of the minutes of
the last regular meeting of December 10, 1968 were read and approved
as corrected. Motin by Alderman Elledge and seconded by alderman
Martin. Motion carried.
Bills were read and approved to be apid on a motion by Alderman
Martin and sec ,nded by Alderman Iviauk. Motion carried.
Mr. Addicks met with Council in reference to holes in Street onValentine
Zt.Council advised Mr. Addicks they wo.)ld do this work soon.
Attorney James Caton met with Council and asked that he be heard in
reference to several criticisms of City Judge McClure . After oral
statement by Atty. Caton a portion of the statement was substaMated
by City Atty. John Gay. A general discussion was held by the City
Council and on the motion Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman
Elledge the following resolution was introduced.
R 'SOLUTION, that the City Treasurer and the City Manager Audit the
books of the Corporation Court from the 14th day of May 1968 to date
and make report to the Council on or before the llth day of February,
1969.
Letter of resiganation was read by Mayor hall from Alderman Bill Cline,
effective January 1, 1969. 'lotion to accept his resignation was made
by Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Elledge. Motion carried.
Motion to adjourn at 9:45 by Alderman Aviauk and seconded by Alderman
Martin. totion carried.
