02-11-1969 (City Council) Minutes 166 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING February 11, 1969 The City Council met in regular session February 11, 1969 . Present: Mayor Hall; Aldermen, Mauk, Tibbals, Martin and Elledge . City Mgr. Jack Whitt, City Secy. Oneida Gallagher with City Atty. absent. Meeting was called to order by Mayor hall. Minutes of the last regular meeting of January 14, 1969 were read and approved as read on a motion by Alderman Elledge and seconded by Alderman Mauk. Motion carried. Mr. Raymond Cooper met with Council in reference to flood water drainage . The Council discussed his problem and advised Mr. Cooper t_ey would study the drainage problem and Make reasonable correction and ask for County assistance in mutrial interest. Bills were read and approved to be paid on motion by Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Mauk. Motion carried. Three bids on new Police car were received and read. Cox Chevrolet, McKinney 2,737 .38 Fisher Doyal Ford, McKinney 2,871 .88 Gene Hayes, Plymouth, McKinney 2,849.00 Motion to accept low bid from Cox Chevrolet in McKinney, Texas by Alderman Elledge and seconded by Alderman Tibbals . Motion carried. Re-April Election, motion by Alderman Elledge and seconded by Alderman Martin for Mayor Hall to call an Election to elect three (3) Aldermen for (2) years term and (1 ) Alderman for (1 ) year term, Saturday April 5, 1969. On motion Unanimous Ayes . Election Judge to be A. D. Boyd with T. S. Beene as Alternate Judge, with ( 2) Clerks to be appointed by the Judge. Ordinance #69-1 An Ordinance ordering a special election to be held in the City of Wylie, Texas, on the question of the adoption of a one percent (1%) local sales and use tax within the City; designating the day of the election and the polling place; appointing election officials therefore; providing that all duly qualified resident shall be qualified to vote; prescribing form of ballot; providing for notice of election; containing other provisions relating to said election; providing for severability; and declaring an emergency. Motion by Alderman Elledge and seconded by Alderman Mauk. Unanimous Ayes . City Library. drdinance # 69-2 An Ordinance creating a Library Department and establishing a Library Board to assist in irsple. enting and carrying out the duties and functions of such Library; providing for terms of office and qualifications of such board members; prescribing the authorities and duties of such board members; providing for bequests to the Library and declaring an emergency. McClure, City Judge, to Council . He reported he found the money to be in order but ask for a change it handling docket book and money. Council discussed moving City Hall to C. B.
