13, 1969
The City Council met in regular session May 13, 1969 at 7:00 PM. Present:
Mayor Hall; Aldermen; Tibbals, Mauk, Thomas, Addicks and Martin. City Mgr.
Jack Whitt and City Secy. Oneida Gallagher. City Atty. Gay absent.
Minutes of the last regular meeting of April 8, 1969 were read and approv-
ed as read on motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Addicks . Motion
carried.
Letter from the Planning and Zoning Commission was read asking variance to
re-zone from A 1 Residential to a Multiple Home Classification for Block 10,
Lots 51A & 52 A, Brown and Burns Add., owned by Mrs. S. G. Allison. After
discussion by the Council they granted variance on a motion by Alderman
Addicks and seconded by Alderman Thomas. Unanimous Ayes.
Letter from E. J. Parker was read by City Mgr. Jack Whitt in reference to
sewer problem. Council ask Mr. Whitt to contact Mr. Parker at a later date
as to the cost on a Pro*Rata basis.
Annexing Ordinance #69-5
An Ordinance annexing the hereinafter described territory to the City of
Wylie, Collin, County, Texas, and extending the boundary limits of said
city so as to include said hereinafter described territory within the
City limits, and granting to said territory and to all future inhabitants
of said property all the rights and priveleges of other citizens and
binding said future inhabitants by all of the acts and Ordinances of said
City.Motion by Ald. Martin and seconded by Ald. Thomas. Unanimous Ayes.
Bills were read and a >proved to be paid on motion by Alderman Martin and
seconded by Alderman Mauk. Motion carried.
Council asked that an Ordinance be drawn up for Police Protection on
Private Property.
Notice from The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Co. effective as of
June 10, 1969 an annual compensation of $50.00 per year for the next five
(5) years, for the use of a portion of Santa Fe Property for part of Fire
Station and Gas Pumps. Motion to grant this raise from $25.00 to $50.00
per year by Aid. Tibbals and seconded by Aid. Addicks . Motion carried.
Motion was made by Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman Martin of buy
new furniture for front office of New City Hall. Motion carried.
Letter of resignation was read by Mayor Hall, from Jack H. Whitt, City
Manager, that he resigns as City Manager effective May 15, 1969. Motion
by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Ald. Martin to accept his resignation
but ask the he stay until June 15, 1969 or until he could be replaced.
Motion carried.
Motion to adjourn by Alderman Addicks and seconded by Alderman 1'artin.
Motion carried.
