09-09-1969 (City Council) Minutes REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING 1 7 September 9, 1969 The City Council met in Regular session September, 9, 1969 at 7:30 PM. KK°a- Present: Mayor Hall, Aldermen: Tibbals, Mauk, Martin, Addicks & Thomas; City Atty. John Gay; City Mgr. Jimmy Mathis ; City Secy. Oneida Gallagher. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hall . Minutes of the last regular meeting of August 12, 1969 were read and approved as read on motion by Ald. Tibbals and seconded by Ald. Martin. 1iotion carried. Mr. Co Mrs . Lee Birkett met with Council in reference to side walk and damage on their property on N. Ballard. On motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Aid. Martin the Council agreed to put side walk back and look into the drainage problem. Motion carried. Bill hackett met with Council in reference to Annexing 43 acres South of Wylie to the City of Wylie for a obil Park. Council ask Mr. "ackett to submit plans to Planning and Zonning Commission for their ap royal and then return to Council. Ordinance 69-6 An Ordinance adopting Budget and appropriating resources for Budget year beginning Oat. 1, 1969 and ending Sept. 30, 1970. Motion by Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman Tibbals that the proposed Budget for 1969- 1970, Totalling $187,290.00 b- adopted. Unanimous Ayes . Ordinance 69-7 An Ordinance fixing the Tax rates and levy in and for the City of Wylie. Ordinance 69-8 An ordinance prescribing Water Rates for local resident, of the City of Wylie. 69-9 An Ordinance establishing a Sewer service rate in and for the City of Wylie. Ordinance 69-10 An Ordinance prescribing Garbage collection and disposal rates in and for the City of Wylie. Letter was read from R. D. Onstot and also Mrs . 'Jester Combs in reference to sidewalk and approach in front of their property. Motion to replace side- walk and approach by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. 14lartin. Motion carried. Council discussed a letter from mr. Ray Barnes and talk of Mr. Ticer on Kirby Street problem. Council was to reply to Mr. Barnes by letter. Letter was read from Pearless Mfg. Company in reference to bringing 34 acres into Wylie City limits. This is to acted upon at the Zonning meeting of September 16, 1969. On Motion by Alderman Tibb is and seconded by Alderman Thomas to change from Texaco Gas Inc. to Phillips "66" Gasolins. Motion carried. An Auxiliary Police Unit was discussed, the Council decided to decide on this at the next regular Council meeting. Motion to adjourn by Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman Thomas . Motion carried.
