SPECIAL COUTMCIL I=EETING
September 16, 1969
The City Council met in Special session September 16, 1969 for the
purpose to hear a request to change Zonning on the Maynard Farm
Property from Single family residential to I-2 Heavy industrial. Also to
approve August 1969 Bills and Corporation Court.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hall, Present Mayor Mall ;
Aldermen Tibbals, Mauk, Thomas, Addicks and Martin. City Mgr. Jimmy
Mathis and City Secy. Oneida Gallagher. Citizens: James housewright
James Caton, Mr. Z: Mrs . G. W. Pendergrass, Gordon Shuttlee, Joe
Holman, Donald Sellers and Truett Smith.
Mayor Hall read a letter from Mr. Sellers that explained his product,
and said that it would be in production Summer of 1979. Building
will be 60 X 200. Employ 30 people to start. Seventeen vehicles per
Month when in production.
Mayor explained Zonning change and opened floor to property owners .
Motion by Alderman Addicks and seconded by Alderman Mauk to change
Zonning to 1-2 Heavy Industry, subject to his request for Annexing
other acreage. 5 voted for and none against.
Bills wore mead and discussed, Motion by Alderman Addicks and sec.
by Alderman Thomas to pay August bills . Motion carried.
Council ask City Manager to rent building to hold Corporation Court.
Motion to adjourn by Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman Thomas .
Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
