01-13-1970 (City Council) Minutes REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING e January 13, 1970 The City Council met in regular session Jan. 13, 1970 at 7:30 P. M. Present ' ° Mayor Hall; Aldermen Tibbals, Mauk, Addicks, Martin and Thomas. Atty. Gay, Mgr. Mathis . Water Supt. W. A. Allen and City Secy. Oneida Gallagher. John Wadell representing T.P. & L met with Council re ref. to a grant of Deed to City of Wylie of Lot 18 Bik. 18 in N. Keller Addition. Mr. Smith with Electro Extraction met with Council in ref. to refuse from plant to Sanitary Landfill. He said they would work with the City on the refs Mrs . C. R. Rogers and Sons met with Council in ref. to leasing 10 acres of land to City for Sanitary Landfill for $L5.00 per acre per year for a period of two years or longer. Motion by Addicks and sec. by Tibbals for Atty. Gay draw up a contract agreement with Mrs. Rogers. Motion carried. Christian Church representatives, Rev. narris and Dr. Trimble met with Council in reference to a Foster Home at 400 Hilltop. Mrs. Bostic, Emma Addington and Sam Self representing Citizens on Hilltop to oppose same. Council asked for time to look into the legal matter. In reference to Street light in alley behind Lorenes' Beauty Shop. The Coun- cil did not think tt feasiable to put another light in Alley. Bill Cutchins Chief of Police met with Council in reference to Police work and Auxiliary work. Motion by Alderman Addicks and seconded by Aid. Mauk to draw up an Ortinance1°su'ject to Insurance permitting Aux. Police to ride in car with Police after clearance with Chief and to pay 6 Wylie Aux Police $2.00 each per month. Motion carried. Curtis Hale met with Council asking for permission to build a garage onto his house. City denied this since it was against the sub-division reg. Motion by Alderman Addicks and seconded by Alderman Mauk for the City to negotiate and draw up a resolution to purchasea 40 acre track of land West of Wylie. Dr. Martha Hale has offered 1 1/2 Acres to the City of Wylie to be used as Sanitary Landfill to dump only City refuse, without cost to City and be maintained by City. Council discussed negotiations for a building to house City Hall, Police Station and Library. Bills were rc_ad and approved on motion by Alderman Tibbals and seconded by Alderman Mauk. Motion carried. Motion by Alderman Addicks and secnded by Alderman Tibbals to accept an increase for Police salaries . Motion carried. Minutes of the last regular meeting of December 9, 1969 and also Special meeting of December 16, 1969 were read and approved to be paid om motion by Alderman Thomas and seconded by Alderman Addicks .
