Wylie City Council and WISD Joint Subcommittee Meeting
Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 7:00 A.M.
Wylie ISD Education Center

CALL TO ORDER
City Council members present were Council Member/Subcommittee Chair Kathy Spillyards;
Council Member Rick White; and Mayor Eric Hogue. WISD School Board Members present
were WISD Trustee/School Subcommittee Chair Ronni Fetzer; WISD Trustee Lance Goff; and
WISD Trustee Stacy Gooch. Also in attendance were City Manager Mindy Manson,
Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Fuller, and WISD Assistant Superintendent for Business
Operations Brian Miller.
PRESENTATIONS & DISCUSSION
1. Approval of the Minutes from November 11, 2008. (City Subcommittee
Members Only.)
The minutes were approved with no additions or corrections.
2. Consider Topics and Format for March 31, 2009 Joint City Council/School
Board Meeting.
The subcommittee discussed topics that should be placed on the upcoming joint work session
agenda. Topics included: Status of City/WISD projects, to include the WISD bond
election/contingency plans; Discussion of shared resources, to include video-cable and
possible shared use of recreation center; and City of Wylie Neighborhood Planning update, to

include how WISD/City can help foster citizens' sense of community. The subcommittee
decided that the format for the joint meeting will be a roundtable discussion.
3. Schedule next subcommittee meeting.
The subcommittee agreed that the next meeting would take place at the Municipal Complex
on May 5th at 7:00 a.m.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 a.m.
