07-14-1970 (City Council) Minutes REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING JULY 14, 1970 The City Council met in regular session July 14, 1970 at 7:30 P. M. at City Hall. Present; Mayor Hackler; Aldermen; Martin, Addicks Mauk, Dodd and Thomas; City Manager Jim Mathis, Water Superintendent Allen, City Attorney Bob Baker and City Secretary Oneida Gallagher. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hackler. The minutes of the last regular meeting of June 9, 1970 and also the special meetings of June 15, 1970 and June 25, 1970 were read and approved as read on motion by Alderman Addicks and seconded by Alderman Mauk. Motion carried. A letter from HDR was read by Mayor Hackler in referenceto the 3rd installment of Holiday Terrace Addn. Bob Phillips met with Council representing the owner. Council approved the plat, the paving and dorm drainage, water distribution system and the sanitary sewer system. Motion by Alderman Thomas and seconded by Alderman Dodd to give Mr. Phillips authority to go ahead with their building. All Ayes. Subdivision, preliminary re-plat of Lavon Terrace was presented by Jack Ross. Council requested a chance to check all water and sewer drainage on the pre- liminary Plat review. Mayor Hackler asked Attorney Bob Baker to draw an Ordinance on house numbering. City is to provide City Attorney Baker with a map of the City. Ed Collins and Henry Martinez met with Council in reference to installing an 8" line to replace the now existing 2" line to the Wylie Butane Mobil Park and asked if the City could participate in the larger line. Council told them on a motion by Alderman Thomas and seconded by Alderman Mauk if they would furnish material for 11751, a part of the 1450Tacross property to the City limits, the City would furnish the labor and lay the line. Unanimous Ayes. Council asked City Attorney to draw up an easement to that effect. Leonard Hubbard met with Council in reference to Electrical License. Council on motion by Alderman Thomas and seconded by Alderman Addicks to table this matter until they could study it further. Motion carried. Bob Hogan and Bob Pearce,Engineers for HDR,made a preliminary report on Sewer Improvement Program for the City. They said they would furnish the City a sample Industrial Waste Ordinance. Mayor Hackler called a Special Meeting Monday, July 20, 1970 at 7:30 P. M. to discuss Utility Rates with the City Fiscal Agent,Frank Medanich and City Engineer, Bob Hogan. Motion by Alderman Dodd and seconded by Alderman Martin to send three men, Jim Mathis, W. J. Story and James Housewright to A & M at College Station to Fire School, July 20, 1970 through July 24, 1970 with all expenses paid by City. • All Ayes. Ordinance #70-10 of the City of Wylie, Texas amending section 3-A-3 of Ordinance No. b2-9 of the City so as to provide for water service connection charges and water meter installation costs on motion by Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman Thomas. All Ayes. 2 0 6 Cont►d. from page 205 Motion by Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman Thomas to pay HDR $3000.00 for preparation of a Sanitary Sewer System Study for the City of Wylie as agreed March 10, 1970.
