REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
September 8, 1970
The City Council met in Regular session Tuesday, September 8, 1970
at 6:00 PM in the City Hall.
Those present: Mayor Hackler; Aldermen, Dodd, Martin, Thomas, Mauk
and Addicks, City Atty. Baker; City Manage0 Mathis; Water Supt.
W. A. Allen and City Secy. Oneida Gallagher.
This meeting was called to order by Mayor Hackler. The minutes of the
special meetingd of July 20, 1970, Regular meeting of August 11, 1970
and Special meeting of August 25, 1970 were read and approved on motion
by Alderman Mauk and seconded by Alderman Thomas. Motion carried.
Frank Medinach with The First Southwest Company read a Resolution to
be adopted, to order a Sewer Improvement Bond Election in the amount
of $400,000.00 for September 26, 1970, with A. D. Boyd Judge and
Emma Addington as Alternate Judge . 2 Clerks to be selected by A. D.
Boyd, on the motion by Aid. Thomas and seconded by Alderman Mauk,
Unanimous Ayes.
Monthly bills were read and discussed and approved to be paid on
motion by Ald. Martin and seconded by Ald. Thomas. AllAyes.
A. request by Jack Parr for a water tap on N. Ballard. After dis-
cussion, motion by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Alderman Dodd for
the City to draw up an agreement that there would be only one
resident to tie on to the 1"dine . To pay for all materials, main-
tain line and to disignate that the City of Wylie does not own the
line. Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Thomas to have
signs to direct all 'tru4s travel on East Brown to go from HWY 544
down Ballard to HWY 78. All Ayes .
1970-71 Budget was discussed.
Mayor Hackler set an official hearing of the 1970-71 Budget for
September 29, 1970 at 7:30 PM in the City Hall, and a notice will
be published on the 15th of September, 1970.
In reference to Utility cost for Schools, the City Council approved
a letter written by mayor Hackler denying their request for lower
cost.
Meeting clIsed at 7:45 PM.
Leonard Hubbard met with Council in reference to Electrical License
and ask to be on the Agenda for the next Council meeting. J. E.
White also ask to be on the Agenda.
