REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
January 26, 1971 �*
The City Council met in regular session, January 26, 1971, in City
hall, at 7:30 P. M. Present; Alderman Martin Pro-Tem, Mauk, Thomas
and Addicks. City Manager Mathis; City Secy. Oneida Gallagher.
With Mayor Tackler and Alderman Dodd absent.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Martin.
Motion by Alderman Addicks and seconded by Alderman Mauk to accept
the Planning and Zoning Board recommendation on 35 acres on W. Hwy.
544 for zoning change from single family residential to light in-
dustry, to allow a Mobil home Park.
Sewer request on N. Ballard by Mr. & Mrs . J. D. Richie and Mr. & Mrs.
Bill Kreymer. After discussion, Mr. hreymer stated the Kreymer Est.
would grant a two (2) year easement to go down W. line of their
property. The Council adtised them to come back to the next regular
Council meeting for further discussion.
Live stock and fowl Ordinance was discussed. Council ask a letter be
sent renter, Mr. Duane Thomas, 201 W. 5th Street. , stating he was
voilating City Ordinances.
A letter of resignation from Jim Hudson, Chief of Police, was read
by Mayor Martin; Pro4+Tem. Motion by Alderman Addicks and seconded
by Alderman Thomas to accept Chief Hudson' s resignation and write a
letter of appreciation for services well done. All Ayes .
Motion by Alderman Addicks and seconded by Alderman Mauk to draw an
Ordinance to Annex North Texas Municipal Water District Plant Site
and Texas Power and Light Substation into the City limits . All Ayes.
Letters from Jack Ross was discussed. No action taken.
A letter fromGalyean Assistant Executive Secy. was read. Attorney for
Texas State Teachers Association opinion is that there seems to be no
violation if Teacher draws no salary as service on City Council.
Alderman Addicks gave a City limits report to Council. Council gave
Mayor Hackler power to sign contracts on motion by Ald. Thomas and
seconded by Alderman Mauk. Motion carried.
Refuse on property discussed. Council ask that all refuse on property
in violation of City Ordinance be removed.
Council gave Mayor Hackler power to negotiate in buying land out of
Abst. 267 from Mr. ivlartinez for a Sewer Line and to also draw and
easement to this affect.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and sec. by Aid. Mauk to turn Explorer Pipeline
Company' s Application to City Atty. Baker and City Engineers. All Ayes .
Motion to adjourn at 10:15 on Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by
Alder__.an Mauk. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
