March 23, 1971
The City Council met in regular session March 23, 1971, in City Hall,
at 7:30 PM. Present; Mayor Hackler; City Councilmen; Martin, Mauk,
Dodd, Addicks and Thomas . City Mgr. Mathis, Water Supt. Allen and
City Secy. Oneida Gallagher.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor hackler.
Representatives from Stovall Tallow Co. met with Council in reference
to constructing a Metal auilding for a Tallow Plant. After much discussion
Council ask Mr. Mathis to fly to St. Louis to inspect the existing plant
in that City before giving their consent.
Dog problem was discussed. Motion by Ald. Martin and seconded by Ald..
Addicks to look into a feaslaol.e way to handle this problem.
Water line pipe on the ground in front of Ea Collins property was dis-
cussed and on motion ray Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Martin to put
the pipe in the ground. All Ayes . Council ask Mr. Mathis to contact
Mr. Martinez and see if he wanted to buy the pipe to finish the line
across his property and they would lay it at the same time.
Valentine Street was discussed. Council ask City Mgr. Mathis to get a
firm bid from the contractor for the month of May.
M'�otion icy Alderman Thomas and seconded by Alderman Mauk to hire someone
to patrol School Zone at $2.uu per hr. and City furnish uniforms.
Recreation program was discussed and tabled until Council could get
mor information.
L. J. White met with Council asking for a number be assigned him on
the County and City 18u Radio frequency. Motion by Alderman Thomas
and seconded by Alderman Martin to deny a number to Mr. White. All Ayes.
Motion to adjourn by Alderman Thomas and seconded by Alderman Mauk.
Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
