05-11-1971 (City Council) Minutes c, 4) s) f� s, 4 i REGULAR CITY COUNCILMEETING ea May 11, 1971 The City Council met in r gular session, May 11, 1971, in City Hall, at 7:30 PM. Present: Mayor Hackler; Aldermen; Dodd, Addicks, Thomas, Mauk :nd Davis; City Atty. Bob Baker; City Mgr. Mathis; Water Supt. Allen and City Secy. Gallagher. The greeting was called to order by Mayor Hackler. Fire Chief Story met with Council in reference to a 1948 Fire Truck. Council gae their consent for the Fire Department to make a bid of 41,401.00 to City of Dallas on the Fire Truck, on Motion by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Ald. Dodd. All Ayes . Mr. & Mrs . Gray, 202 W. Kirby met with Council in reference to their sonts cars , who is in the service at this time . Council on motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Mauk to allow cars to remain on property until November 1, 1971 when boy returns home. All Ayes . Stan Rogers met with Council to discuss Dog Pound. This was tabled until a later meeting in order to draw up an Ordinance and get cost and a dog catcher. Plumbing Ordinance wos discussed and on motion by Ald. Davis and sec. by Ald. Dodd to go with recommendations of HD&R. Engineers . All Ayes . Sewer Improvement report of the Texas Water quality Board at Austin was given by City Mgr. Mathis . Water and sewer requests fro_ A outside City limits was discussed. They ask that Mr. McCord and Mr. Newman met with Council at the next regular meeting of M a y 25, 1971. Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Mauk to amend Ordinance #68-4, to Ordinance #71-6 of the City so as to exempt vehicles used excusively for racing purposes from provisions of said Ordinance; Providing for Permits; Providing penalties ; and declaring an emergency. Unanimous Ayes. Minutes of the reg ;lar meetings of April 13, 1971; Special meeting of April 22, 1971 and second regular meeting of April 27, 1971, -;-.ere approved on motion. by Aid, Addicks and seconded by Ald. Thomas . All Ayes . Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. j4auk to pay April expenditures . Lotion carried. i„elvin St. John met with Council and ask to be on Agenda for may 25, 1971. Council appointed Charles P. Elledge to serve on Pianning and Zoning Board in the place vacated by C. B. Martin. Council appointed Ann Martin to serve on Library Board to fill the un- expired term of Lary Parker, who resigned. Chief of Police Blanks gave a report on the newly hired Patrolman Richie. Motion to adjourn by Ald. Addicks and sec. By Ald. Dodd.
