07-12-1971 (City Council) Minutes REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
July 12, 1971
The City Council met in regular session, in City Hall at ? :30 PM.
Present : Mayor Hackler; Aldermen: Dodd, Thomas and Davis ; City Atty. Baker;
City Mgr. Mathis ; Water Supt. Allen and City Secy. Gallagher. Alderman
Addicks and Alderman Mauk absent.
Mayor Hackler read a report from Zoning Board, on M. M. Martin property.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Dodd to accept Zoing Board
recommendations. All Ayes.
Council approved expenditures to send 3 men to fire school at A&M College.
James Housewright, Fire Chief Willie J. Story and Danny Cryer. All Ayes.
Motion by Alderman Dodd and seconded by Alderman Thomas. All Ayes.
Atty. Bergman representing L. J. White on Wrecker Service in reference to
allow him to operate his wrecker serlTice in city of Wylie and be put on City
Radio, frequency 180. Motion by Ald. Thomas and sec. by Ald. Davis to dis-
cuss this further and have a special meeting July 20, 1971. All Ayes.
Wylie Fire Dept. ask to be put on the next regular Council meeting in
reference to New Fire Truck.
Motion by Ald. Davis and seconded by Ald. Thomas to accept preliminary Plat
for M. M. Martin property. Unanimous Ayes.
Council voted to amend Industrial Waste Ordinance # 70--15, in accordance
with enviormental protection agency accommodations, on motion by Ald. Dodd
and seconded by Ald. Davis. Unanimous Ayes.
Request for a resolution to release Utility easement on Raymond Cooper Land
was tabled by Council until Mr. Cooper could furnish City with a new easement
on line.
Council ask Chief Blanks to check with other Cities in reference to an
Ordinance to prohibit or regulate Pool Halls in City of Wylie.
Council voted to give City Mgr. Mathis and City Insp. Allen authority to
enforce all Sub-Divisions and Construction according to Ordinances. All Ayes.
Mayor Hackler called a special meeting on July 20, 1971 to discuss Salaries
and Budget for 1971--1972 and other matters.
Minutes of the meetings of June 8, 1971 an, June 22, 1971 were approved on
motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Thomas. All Ayes.
Expenditures for the Month of June were approved to be paid on motion by Ald.
Thomas and seconded by Ald. Dodd. Motion Carried.
Meeting adjourned on motion by Ald. Davis and seconded by Aid. Thomas. Motion
carried.
