08-09-1971 (City Council) Minutes REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
August 9, 1971
The City Council met in regular session in City Hall at 7 :30 P.M.
August 9, 1971. Present; Mayor Hackler; aldermen: Dodd, Addicks,
Davis and Thomas. City Manager Mathis; Water Supt. Allen and City
Secretary Oneida Gallagher with Alderman Mauk and City Atty. Absent.
Mayor Hackler gave a report on the purchase of Martinez land for
price of $3500.00, for the new sewer plant.
School Supt. Chaney ask for a one-way street for schools from
Ballard to Birmingham during school rush hours. After discussion
Council tabled this until further study could be made.
Motion by Alderman Dodd and seconded by Alderman Thomas to approve
the new Wylwood addition. All Ayes.
Water line on South 2nd and HWY 544 was discussed. Motion by
Alderman Thomas and seconded by Alderman Dodd to buy pipe 2" thur
$" in the amount of $$79.57. All Ayes.
Bobby Brundidge met with Council in reference to dog problem.
No action was taken by Council.
Mr. Roberts with General Telephone Company met with Council in
reference to Telephone Service. Motion by Alderman Addicks and
seconded by Alderman Dodd to approve Ordinance #71-12, to extend
services between Wylie and the Dallas Metropolitan exchange, and
schedule of telephone rates within the Corporate limits of Wylie.
Unanimous Ayes.
Monthly expenditures were discussed and approved to be paid on
motion by Alderman Addicks and seconded by Alderman Dodd. Motion
carried.
Minutes of the Council meetings of July were read and approved
on motion by Alderman Davis and seconded by Alderman Addicks.
All Ayes.
Motion to adjourn by Alderman Davis and seconded by Alderman Addicks.
Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
