09-14-1971 (City Council) Minutes REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 14, 1971
The City Council met in regular session in City Hall at 7 :30 PM.
Present; Mayor Hackler; Aldermen; Dodd, Mauk, Davis, and Addicks
with Alderman Thomas absent. City Mgr. Mathis; Water Supt. Allen;
and City Secy. Gallagher, with Atty. Baker absent.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hackler.
On motion by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Ald. Davis that the proposed
1971-1972 Budget for the City of Wylie, Texas, herein submitted
totaling $309,350.00 be adopted. Unanimous Ayes.
Ordinance #71-14. An Ordinance fixing tax rate and levy for the year
1971-1972 was passed on motion by Ald. Mauk and seconded by Ald. Addicks.
Unanimous Ayes.
Work orders number 8-9 of Sewer Improvememt Program was approved on
motion by Ald. Davis and seconded by Ald. Mauk. All Ayes. .
Bill Nelson with Wylie JC's asked to park their Van on the Service
Center property. Council would allow this with an agreement from
JC's that they would not hold City liable.
Little League Base Ball Club met with Council to discuss Ball Park.
Council will study this and get back with Club as to their decision.
Mr. Caviness met with Council in reference to small water line on
S. Ballard St. Discussed and tabled until they could get a cost on
line.
Texas Municipal League Conference to be held in Houston, Texas on
Oct. 3rd thru 5th 1971. Motion by Ald. Davis and seconded by Ald.
Mauk to pay expenses for Mayor Hackler and City Manager Mathis to
attend. All Ayes.
Council ask that City Adlty. Baker draft an Ordinance against gathering
on parking lot at Dairy Queen.
Minutes of Council meetings in August were approved on motion by Ald.
Dodd and seconded by Ald. Mauk. Motion Carried.
Monthly expenditures were approved to be paid on motion by Ald. Mauk
and seconded by Ald. Davis. Motion carried.
Motion to adjourn by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Ald. Davis. All Ayes.
