REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
January 25, 1972
The City Council met in regular session in City Hall at 7:30PM.
Present: Mayor Hackler, Aldermen; Addicks, Dodd, Davis, and Mauk.
Water Supt. Allen, Police Chief Blanks, and City Secy. Gallagher.
With Alderman Thomas absent.
The Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hackler.
Lee Birkett street complaint was discussed. After a report from
the State Hwy. Dept. the council decided to deny Mr. Birkett' s
request.
Little League Baseball was discussed. Mr. Rogers, Hale and Gibson
met with Council to ask for donation form City. Mr. Waddell with
TP&L gave the figures it would cost for the two new fields. Council
told them they could not donate anything at this time.
Council ask Chief Blanks to get the Hwy. Dept. approval for a 20MPH
sign to be put on S. Ballard ' ,St.
Group Ins. for Municipal Employees was discussed and tabled until
next regular Council Meeting.
Council voted not to accept the Street from Randall Cooper North
of Kirby St. at this time.
Council voted to try the garabage pickup in alley on Briarwood and
Dogwood St.
Saniatary landfill charges were discussed and will be on agenda
next regular council meeting in Feb.
Motion to adjourn by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Mauk. Motion
carried.
