REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
APRIL 25, 1972
The City Council met in regular session, April 25, 1972, in the City
Hall at 7:30 PM. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hackler.
Present: Mayor Hackler, City Manager Woodard, Aldermen: Addicks,
Thomas, Davis, and Christopher, Water Supt. Allen, Chief of Police
Blanks and City Secy. Gallagher, with Ald. Dodd absent.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Aid. Christopher to borrow from
The First State Bank $18,000.00 for a period of five months at the
interest rate of 61% per annum for the new Fire Truck. Unanimous
Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Addicks to continue plans
for Employee Insurance Program and to hold a meeting with employees
to discuss the Insurance Program. All Ayes.
Don Smith with Electro Extraction met with Council to discuss Sanitary
Landfill Waste Charges. Tabled with Mr. Woodard and Mr. Smith to
discuss same and come back to Council.
Chief Blanks informed Council that he had hired a new patrolman,
Alfred Jewett, to start work May 1, 1972.
Meeting adjourned at 9:15 PM.
