Regular City Council Meeting
May 9, 1972
The City Council met in regular session May 9, 1972, in City Hall at 7:30
P. M. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Dodd at 7:30 PM.
Present Mayor Pro-Tem Dodd, City Mgr. Woodard, Aldermen; Addicks, Thomas,
Christopher, and Davis, Water Supt. Allen, City Secretary Gallagher,
with Mayor Hackler and City Atty. absent.
The Minutes of the April meetings were approved on a motion by Ald.
Thomas and seconded by Ald. Addicks. A11 Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Ald. Christopher to approve the
expenditures for the month of April. All Ayes.
Council approved Mayor Hackler and City Manager Woodard to attend the
General Assembly Meeting of North Central Texas Council of Governments
on Wednesday, May 17, 1972.
City Manager Woodard read a letter from Municipal League in reference
to a rate increase by Lone Star Gas Co. Council on motion by Ald.
Thomas and seconded by Ald. Addicks to join forces with Municipal
League for a study of the increase. A11 Ayes.
Motion by Aid. Addicks and seconded by Aid. Thomas supporting the
Resolution #72-101 on Revenue Sharing Bill. The State and Local
Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972 H. R. 14370. A11 Ayes.
Lights for Little League Baseball Field was discussed by Council.
League Board asked to be on the Agenda for the next regular council
meeting of May 22, 1972, for a decision.
Council on motion by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Ald. Thomas to
accept Hospital and Insurance Policy with the Home Insurance Co.
with a 50% participation on employee portion. Unanimous Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Davis and seconded by Aid. Christopher to repeal Ord.
# 71-7 by Ord. # 72-2 of the City providing for impoundment of abandoned
motor vehicles, and declaring junked vehicles a public nuisance. A11
Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Aid. Addicks to table Solid Waste
Ordinance until next regular council meeting and ask City Mgr. to have
rates for dumping in Sanitary Landfill.
