05-23-1972 (City Council) Minutes ,6►4 REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MAY 23, 1972 The City Council met in regular session May 23, 1972, in the City Hall �* at 7:30 P. M. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Dodd. Present Mayor Pro-Tem Dodd, Aldermen: Addicks, Christopher, Davis and Thomas. City Mgr. Woodard, Water Supt. Allen, Chief of Police Blanks, and City Secretary Gallagher, with Mayor Hackler absent. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Dodd. Frank Medinach and Bobby Scalf met with Council in reference to Component S Application to NTMWD. Council on motion by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Ald. Thomas to follow advice of Frank Medinach, City Bondsman, on application to adopt a Resolution and draw up a contract for sale of bonds with NTMWD. Unanimous Ayes. Council voted to invest $2500.00 for a Community Base Ball Park in conjunction with Wylie School System if cost estimate is not prohibitive, on Motion by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Ald. Thomas. All Ayes. Motion by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Ald. Christopher to set June6, 1972, as an Appreciation Dinner Date at Kirby' s Steak House, for past Councilman Ken Mauk. All Ayes. Motion by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Aid. Thomas to cut a dead tree at Oak and Jackson Streets. Motion carried. Motion by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Ald. Christopher to transfer $10, 000.00 from Utility Fund to General Fund. All Ayes. Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Christopher to put notice in paper for bids on old Police car. All Ayes. Motion by Ald. Addicks and seconded by Ald. Thomas to call a Public Hearing on contemplated annexation to the City of Wylie. Motion carried. On Motion by Aid. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Addicks, Council passed Ord. # 72-3. An ordinance covering solid waste collection and disposal for City of Wylie. All Ayes. Mr. Rushin ask to be on agenda, in reference to sewer and water for E. Hwy. 78 and 5th Street, at the next regular council meeting of June 13, 1972. Motion to adjourn by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Addicks. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned. R. C.
