08-08-1972 (City Council) Minutes REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
AUGUST 8, 1972
The City Council met in regular session in City Hall at 7:30 PM, August 8,
v 1972. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hackler. Present: Mayor
Hackler, Aldermen, Dodd, Thomas, Christopher, and Davis. City Secy. Oneida
Gallagher, City Mgr. Woodard, Water Supt. Allen, Police Chief Blanks and
City Atty. Larry Jackson, with Alderman Addicks absent.
Mr. Cole representing the Fowler & Grafe Eng. met with Council in reference
to Ryan Addition Plat of 54 homes west of City, north of Cottonbelt St.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald, Christopher to approve Plat as
recommended specifications of HD&R for Asphalt Streets, 15 ' utility
easement and lot size of 6000 sq. ft. Unanimous Ayes.
Mr. and Mrs. Rushin met with Council in reference to a building permit for
a School of Dance Studio. Council voted on motion by Ald. Dodd and
seconded by Aid. Thomas to allow this building of 26x30 on R. R. property.
All Ayes.
Mr. Williamson with Lone Star Gas met with Council in reference to a gas
increase. Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Aid. Dodd to pass Ord.
72-10 to allow a .20 per customer increase. All Ayes.
Radar unit was presented by Chief Blanks after discussion. Motion by
Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Davis to try the unit for 90 days lease
with option to buy. All Ayes.
Council discussed the extension of 12" water main to service Dunlap &
Powers property on FM 1378.
Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Thomas to transfer $10, 000.00
from Utility Fund to General Fund. All Ayes.
Council voted on motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Christopher
to approve Ordinance 72-8 annexing 1 mile east 1 on Paul Wilson Road
and Ordinance 72-9 annexing mile east of Plano and Milwood Roads. All
Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Davis and seconded by Aid. Thomas to grant zoning changes
on Lots 3,4, 5,6, & 7, Block 12, Keller second addition from Single Family
Residential to Multiple Family Residential and Lots 2, 3,4, Block 12 in
Railroad addition from Restricted Commercial to Multiple Family Residential.
All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Davis to approve minutes of
council meeting in July and also approved expenditures for the month
of July. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 PM.
