10-24-1972 (City Council) Minutes 274 REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 24, 1972 The City Council met in regular session October 24, 1972, in City Hall at 7:30 PM. Present: Mayor Hackler, Aldermen Dodd, Thomas, Addicks & Davis, City Mgr. Woodard, Water Supt. Allen, City Secy. Gallagher, with Ald. Christopher absent. John Harrington on Cable Television. Not present. Representatives from H. D. & R. met with Council to open bids for con- struction of additions to high service pumping facilities. Three bids were presented: S. M. Farquhar & Co. Dallas $34,931.00 Onyx Const. Co. Ft. Worth 29, 755.00 Ruff Const. Co. Dallas 36,477.00 Four bids on pumps only were : Smith Pump Co. Waco 4,849.86 Allis-Chalmers Dallas 5, 572.00 Peerless Pump Div. Dallas 5, 242.00 Pierce Pump Co. Dallas 5,488.00 Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Thomas to authorize Mayor Hackler and City Mgr. Woodard to meet with H.D. & R. to review bids and plans of contractors. All Ayes. Mr. Nance met with Council in reference to taxes on house at 304 S. 3rd St. Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Davis to leave taxes on Tax Roll and have auditor to remove them at the end of year. Motion carried. Council had no objections to Stone Road Subdivision Plat. Council asked to call a Public Hearing on annexation of county roads off 544 South. Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Dodd for speed controlling on Hwy. 78 and FM 544. All Ayes 72-18 72-19 Boundary lines between Wylie and St. Paul were tabled until mext council meeting in November. On Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Thomas. All Ayes. Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Davis to annex Nortex Nursery Land. All Ayes. Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Thomas to send Mayor Hackler and City Manager Woodard and wives to a±lend the Texas Municipal League Meeting in Dallas, Nov. 12-13-14, 1972. All Ayes. Meeting adjourned. -- C. W.
