REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 16, 1973
The City Council met in regular session in City Hall Jan. 16, 1973 at 7:30 PM
Present: Mayor Hackler, Aldermen: Addicks, Thomas, Christopher, and Davis.
City Mgr. Woodard, Water Supt. Allen, Police Chief Blanks, City Secy.
Gallagher, with Alderman Dodd Absent.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hackler. The minutes and bills
were approved for Nov. , Dec. , and Jan. on motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded
by Ald. Christopher. All Ayes.
Council reviewed the status of a Fire Contract. A letter from City of
Plano was read and discussed and tabled on motion by Ald. Davis and seconded
by Ald. Christopher. All Ayes.
A public hearing was called on the annexation of County Road right-of-way.
Said county road being the west survey line of a L. K. Pegues Survey, Abst.
703. Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Christopher. All Ayes.
The contract with NTMWD to operate the Wylie Sewage Plant and a breakdown
of the expense was discussed. Motion by Ald. Davis and seconded by Ald.
Thomas to approve contract with NTMWD to operate plant. Unanimous Ayes.
The organization of the East Fork Water Quality Advisory Council was
discussed. Bill Powell, Mayor of Anna, was approved as representative of
the cities forming the Upper Basin of the East Fork of the Trinity River.
By virtue of the operational contract of the Wylie sewer plant by NTMWD,
the City Council appointed City Mgr. Woodard to represent Wylie.
Zoning change on changing of R-900 to 80 percent brick and a minimum of
1100 sq. ft. of living area. Council ask to call a public hearing on this
change.
Report from Dept. heads. Allen and Blanks. They discussed water and sewer
and the Police Dept.
General Telephone Rate increase was discussed and tabled.
Up-date on sewer project was presented by City Mgr. Woodard.
Tax equalization and consolidation with school was discussed. Council
ask Ald. Thomas to contact apprasial Board to meet with Council.
Council authorized City Mgr. to take bids for a New Police car.
