02-13-1973 (City Council) Minutes TITS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 13, 1973 Council met in regular session. Present: MayorFRo-tem Dodd, Aldermen Addicks, Christopher, Davis, and Thomas, City Manager Woodard, ^+ Water Supt. Allen, Chief Blanks. Absent Mayor C. W. Hackler. Others--Jim Caton, Mr. & Mrs. Don Montgomery, Bob Roberts. Aid. Thomas moved to approve the minutes of previous meeting. Aid. Davis seconded. All Ayes. Ald. Addicks moved to approve bills, seconded by Aid. Christopher. All Ayes. Jim Caton in connection with annexation of road near his house. Ald. Thomas moved to table the annexation, Ald. Davis seconded the motion. All Ayes. Bob Roberts presented a request for a rate increase from General Tele- phone. The Council requested more information. Ald. Thomas moved to table the request until further information was presented, seconded by Ald. Christopher. All Ayes. Bids on a police car were opened. Ald. Thomas moved to authorize purchase of a 1973 Dodge from Lone Star Dodge. Seconded by Ald. Addicks. All Ayes. Fire contracts with surrounding cities were discussed. Ald. Thomas moved to have the Fire Chief at the next council meeting with information concerning fires. Seconded by Ald. Addicks. All Ayes. Ordinance 73-1, authorizing the establishment of school zones and speed limits, was read. Aid. Addicks moved it adoption. Seconded by Ald. Thomas, all ayes. Ald. Addicks moved to give a commendation to Patrolman Wacasey for exemplary police action. Seconded by Ald. Christopher. All Ayes. On motion by Ald. Davis, seconded by Ald. Thomas, the City Officers Election was set for April 7, 1973. Emma Addington to serve as election judge, Buck Boyd as alternate. All Ayes. Ald. Addicks moved to adjourn, and seconded by Ald. Thomas.
