REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
APRIL 10, 1973
The City Council met in regular session April 10, 1973, in City Hall at �*+
7:30 PM. Present Mayor Hackler, Aldermen Dodd, Thomas, Christopher,
Butler, and Boyd. Police Chief Blanks, Fire Chief Story, Water Supt.
Allen, City Atty. Robert Dillard and City Secretary Oneida Gallagher and
City Manager Dennis Woodard.
Mayor Hackler gave the oath of office to Don Thomas and Dwayne Boyd and
Edward Butler for Aldermen.
Cluster Box Postal Delivery was tabled on motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded
by Ald. Dodd. Motion carried.
Mr. Goltz met with Council in reference to sewer line extension out East
Stone Road. After a lengthy discussion council tabled the discussion until
they could study ordinance and meet with Planning and Zoning Board.
Council approved up-dating City Zoning Ordinance on motion by Ald. Thomas and
seconded by Ald. Christopher. Unanimous Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Thomas to appoint Don Hughes on
Planning and Zoning Board to replace the late Mrs. John Bostic who served
as Board Chairman. All Ayes.
Motion to approve monthly minutes and bills for March by Ald. Dodd and
seconded by Ald. Thomas. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Thomas that Mayor Hackler be
authorized to execute on behalf of City of Wylie and Atchinson, Topeka
and Santa Fe Railway Co. such contract or agreement to the use of certain
land as a site for a fire station and city beautification program. Unanimous
Ayes.
In reference to Wylie Baseball Club, Council asked that City Manager Woodard
meet with School Supt. Whitt to work out plans for Club to have City Atty.
to draw up a contract.
Department Heads: Water Supt. Allen, Police Chief Blanks, Fire Chief Story
and City Mgr. Woodard gave reports of their departments.
Mayor ask that Council change meeting time from 7:30 PM to 7:00 PM. All
in Favor.
Motion to adjourn at 9:30PM as by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Dodd.
