REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
MAY 8, 1973
The City Council met in regular session May 8, 1973 in City Hall at 7:00 PM.
-- Present: Mayor Hackler, Aldermen Dodd, Thomas, Christopher, Butler & Boyd.
City Mgr. Woodard, Water Supt. Allen, Police Chief Blanks and City Secy.
Oneida Gallagher.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hackler.
Council received petition from Citizens for paving 5th Street and E. Oak
Street. Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Butler to ask for bids
on streets. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Christopher and seconded by Ald. Thomas to approve the
Revenue Sharing budget. All Ayes.
Council appointed Ald THomas as representative to the NCTCOG. Motion by
Ald. Butler and seconded by Ald. Christopher. Motion carried.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Aid. Butler to approve the baseball
contract. Unanimous Ayes.
Mayor Hackler recommended the appointment of Loren Krantz as municipal
court judge to replace W. W. Barker who is ill. Motion by Ald. Thomas
and seconded by Ald. Boyd to accept the recommendation. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Christopher to approve the
minutes and bills for April. All Ayes.
City Mgr. Woodard read a report on the action of General Telephone Co.
after discussion. Council decided to follow the wake of other cities
in our area.
On motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Boyd to move City Hall into
114 N. Ballard for $175.00 per month and move the Library from the Bank
Bldg. to 108 N. Ballard at $125.00 per month. A lease for 5 years was to
be drawn up. Unanimous Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Christopher to pass a Resolution
declaring the week of July 4th as safe boating week at Wylie. Motion
carried.
