REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
AUGUST 14, 1973
The City Council met in regular session August 14, 1973 at 7:00 PM in
City Hall. Present: Mayor Pro-tem Dodd, Aldermen Thomas, Boyd, Butler,
and Christopher, City Manager Woodard, Chief of' Police Blanks, Fire Chief
Story and City Secy. Gallagher. Mayor Hackler absent. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Pro-tem Dodd.
Set Tax Rate for 1973. Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald.
Christopher to set taxes at 50% of actual value and tax rate at $1.10 per
$100.00 valuation. Unanimous Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Butler and seconded by Ald. Thomas to transfer $10,000.00
from Utility Fund to General Fund. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Boyd and seconded by Ald. Christopher to pass Ord. 73-4
an Ordinance prohibiting the drilling of oil and gas wells within City
Limits of Wylie. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Christopher and seconded by Ald. Boyd to approve the gas
cost adjustment for Lone Star Gas Co. Motion carried. Motion by Ald.
Butler and seconded by Ald. Thomas to approve minutes and expenditures
for the month of July. All Ayes.
Street work was discussed. City Mgr. Woodard said he was working on
prices for 1st, 2nd, Oak and Marble Streets. and also street to
Sanitary Landfill. Motion to adjourn at 8:45 PM by Ald. Thomas and —,
seconded by Ald. Christopher. All Ayes.
