REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 11, 1973
The City Council met in regular session September 11, 1973, at 7:00 PM
°` in City Hall. Present: Mayor Hackler, Aldermen Dodd, Butler, Boyd,
and Christopher, City Manager Woodard, Fire Chief Story, Firemen Clar$,
Water Supt. Allen, Sewer Supt. Housewright, City Secy. Gallagher with
Ald. Thomas Absent. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hackler.
First on agenda, Hearing on budget for 1973-1974. Motion by Ald. Dodd
and seconded by Ald. Boyd to adopt Ordinance 73-5 in the amount of
$387, 204.00 for the 1973-1974 Budget. Revenue Sharing $24, 012.00;
General Fund $191,494.00; and Utility Fund $171, 698.00. All Ayes.
Motion was made by Ald. Butler and seconded by Ald. Dodd to purchase
Lots 4,5,6B, Blk. 4 North Keller .Addition from A. D. Boyd. Purchase
price of $14, 000.00 to be paid out of Revenue Sharing over a period
of 5 years. All Ayes.
Raymond Cooper met with Council concerning street paving of West Kirby
Council assured Mr. Cooper they would give the street serious consideration
at an early date.
Council considered bids on Marble and 5th Streets. Only one bid was
received from Martin Bros. , in Garland, Texas, in the amount of
$15,998.40. After discussion, motion was made by Ald. Boyd and
seconded by Ald. Christopher to black top streets with property
owners participation. All Ayes.
General Telephone lawsuit was discussed. Council voted to hold a
special Council meeting Tuesday, Sept. 18, 1973, at 7:00 PM for Council
decision on rates for the City of Wylie.
Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Butler to approve the minutes
and expenditures for the month of August. All Ayes.
