REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
October 10, 1973
The City Council met in regular session October 10, 1973, at 7:00 PM in
-- City Hall. Present: Mayor Hackler, Aldermen: Dodd, Christopher, Butler,
and Thomas; City Mgr. Woodard, Fire Chief Story, Firemen Clark and City
Secy. Gallagher. Aldermen Boyd was absent.
Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by A]d . Christopher to appoint Metropolition
Areawide Review Committee Ald. Thomas as representative to NCTCOG. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Butler to approve minutes and
expenditures for the month of September. All Ayes.
R. D. Nance met with Council in reference to his City Tax. He ask they
be excluded from the Tax Roll as it was church property. Council discussed
the taxes and advised Mr. Nance the Roll had been approved for 1973 but they
would consider it again in 1974. On motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by
Ald. Dodd. Unanimous Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Butler to approve Ordinance 73-7.
An Ordinance ordering improvements on Marble, 5th, and E. Oak Streets.
Payments shall be worked out with City Manager. Unanimous Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Christopher to approve Ord. 73-9
and ordinance establishing new telephone rates with General Telephone Co
for the City of Wylie. Unanimous Ayes.
Resolution authorizing the purchase of Lots Four (4) , Five (5) , and
7- 41 1/3 feet off of the North Side of Lot Six (6) in Blk. Four (4) in
Keller' s First Addn. The purchase price of $14, 000.00 payable $3, 000.00
down and balance to be paid in five years at 8/ interest. Motion by
Aldermen Thomas and seconded by Ald. Butler. Unanimous Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Christopher and seconded by Ald. Thomas to extend payment
on the $18, 000.00 note by First State Bank to November 30, 1973. Then
negotiate new note in the amount of $13, 000.00. All Ayes.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM.
