REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
November 13, 1973
The City Council met in regular session November 13, 1973 at 7:00 PM in
City Hall. Present: Mayor Hackler; Aldermen: Dodd, Christopher, Butler, —*
Boyd and. Thomas; City Mgr. Woodard; Fire Chief Story, Sewer Supt. House-
wright, Water Supt. Allen, Chief of Police Blanks and. City Secy. Gallagher.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hackler.
First on agenda, Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Dodd to accept
the recommendations of Zoning Board to change Lots 1, 2, 3, Blk. 4 and
1, 2, 3,8,9,10, Blk. 3 Railroad addition from Single Family Residental
to Light Industry and leave Lots 1, 2, 3,4, Blk. 9 and 1, 2, Blk. 10, Railroad,
also Lots 4-7, Blk. 3 and Lots 4, 5,B1k. 4, Railroad in Commercial C-1.
All Ayes. 3--/)-
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Butler to abandon 200 and 300
blocks of N. 3 rd. and 400 block of E. Jefferson Streets and leave N. 4th
Street open. Motion carried. 7# '73-i3
Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Butler to pass resolution giving
the City of Josephine 1947 Fire Truck. All Ayes.
On motion by Ald. Christopher and seconded by Ald. Thomas to pass Resolution
to renew $18,000. note at First State Bank in Wylie for Fire Truck.
Motion by Ald. Butler and seconded by Ald. Christopher to pass Ordinance
No. 73-10 regulating abandoned cars. Unanimous Ayes.
Jim Taylor withTP.&L. met with Council concerning rate increase. Motion
by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Butler to set Nov. 27, 1973 for a 1
public Hearing on the increase. All Ayes.
Ordinance # 73-11 providing for the appointment of a Municipal Court
Judge was approved on motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Christopher.
City Manager read a Resolution on Mental Health Clinic for Collin County.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Dodd in favor of City of Wylie
support in the amount of $133.75 per year. All Ayes.
Report of Ald. Dodd and Ald. Thomas concerning Public Hearing on Loop 9. They
reported no action taken at the time on the project.
Council on motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Thomas to deny the
request of St. Paul of a $300.00 refund on fire contract fee. Unanimous
Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Thomas and seconded by Ald. Christopher to approve the
expenditures and minutes of October. All Ayes.
Street Paving program was discussed. Counlc it authorized a $12, 000.00 note
for the paving of Marble, Oak and 5th Streets on motion by Ald. Thomas
and seconded by Ald. Butler. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Christopher and seconded by Aid. Thomas to pay Mrs. J. D.
Richie $134.98 sewer Damage. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Boyd and seconded by Aid. Dodd to pay for the Dale Caregie
Course for City Manager. Woodard. All Ayes.
