June 11, 1974
The City Council met in regular session June 11, 1974, in City Hall at
7:00 PM. Present: Mayor Thomas, Aldermen; Dodd, Nall, Boyd, Martin
and Butler. City Manager Woodard, Water Supt. Allen, Chief of Police
Blanks, Fire Chief Story and City Secy. Oneida Gallagher. The meeting
was called to order by Mayor Thomas.
First on the agenda; Motion made by Ald. Martin and seconded by Ald.
Butler to deny the request by Sam Thompson for a dance permit. All
Ayes.
Roland Kreymer, James Putman, Kenneth Putman and Ray Wooten met with
Council concerning paving North Second Street. After discussion
motion was made by Ald. Butler and seconded by Ald. Nall this be
tabled and ask City Mgr. to get new cost for the street from Brown to
Marble. All Ayes.
Alderman Nall gave a report from the Fire Committee on fighting fires
in St. Paul. The charge of $300.00 per structural fire and no charge
for grass fires unless they become excessive, then the Fire Chief
would set the fee. Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Martin to
accept the report of Ald. Nall. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Boyd to go with NTC Council
of Governments in the formation of consortium with Denton, Wise and
Collin Counties to obtain Federal Funds, on motion. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Butler and seconded by Ald. Boyd to lease two Oxygen
Administrator Units from Stewart Oxygen Service, Dallas, Texas at
$10.00 per unit per month. One for the Fire Department and one for
the Police Department. Unanimous Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Nall and seconded by Aid. Martin to accept the Boundry
Lines with the City of Parker as presented by City Mgr. Woodard.
This boundry would follow Muddy Creek from FM 2514 on the North to
McMillian Road on the South. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Martin and seconded by Ald. Dodd to approve the Revenue
Sharing Budget for July 74-June 75 as presented by City Manager Woodard.
All Ayes.
Bid of $525.00 by William Chapman for painting and bid of $646.00 by
General Roofing Company, Plano, to repair Fire Station was received
and approved on motion by Ald. Nall and seconded by Ald. Dodd. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Martin and seconded by Ald. Butler to approve Minutes
and Expenditures for the Month of May. All Ayes.
Mayor Thomas appointed Don Hughes, Kenneth Nall and R. C. Dodd to serve
on the Equalization Board with William Martin as alternate for the 1974
Taxes.
