12-10-1974 (City Council) Minutes REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
DECEMBER 10, 1974
The City Council met in regular session December 10, 1974, in City Hall
at 7:00 PM. Present Mayor Thomas, Aldermen: Dodd, Nall, Boyd, Martin
and Butler; City Mgr. Woodard, City Secretary Oneida Gallagher, Water
Supt. W. A. Allen, Chief of Police O. C. Blanks.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Thomas. The minutes of the
meeting of Nov. 12, 1974, and Nov. 26, 1974, were approved on motion
by Ald. Martin and seconded by Ald. Butler. Unanimous Ayes.
Ken Thomas, R. B. Miller and Glen Morrow met with Council to discuss
Plumbing and Electrical Ordinances after a lengthy discussion, Council
ask they get together again to see if there were any changes in City
Ordinance 71-16 that would benefit the City.
Proposed streets for new High School were discussed. Council ask Mayor
Thomas and City Manager Woodard to meet with Supt. of Schools Whitt
and see what plans they have.
Ordinance on animal control was discussed and tabled until regular
Council meeting in January.
Douncil asked trade of land with Church of Christ as proposed by
Church of Christ, with the Church paying all legal fees.
Resolution for Bicentennial City Program was read and passed on motion
by Aid. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Butler. All Ayes.
Motion by Ald. Nall and seconded by Ald. Martin to authorize City to
take bids for lease of a utility bill computer. All Ayes.
Council established the policy of paying each Employee regular pay plus
one day pay for each holiday worked.
Motion to adjourn by Ald. Dodd and seconded by Ald. Martin. Motion
carried. Meeting adjourned.
