06-25-2009 (Construction Code) Minutes Construction Code Board CITY OF WYLIE Minutes Construction Code Board Thursday, June 25, 2009—7:00 pm Wylie Municipal Complex— Council Chambers 2000 Highway 78 North CALL TO ORDER Announce the presence of a Quorum. Building Official, Mike McAnnally called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. with the following Construction Code Board Members present: Allen Morris, Zachary Herrera, Brian Parten, Bryan Rogers, Kevin Thompson, Brian Huddleston. Staff present were: Building Official, Mike McAnnally; Code Enforcement Officer, Pat Mitchell; M. Board Secretary, Wendy Young. In the absence of the Chairman, Mr. Ronald Hauck, and due to the resignation of Frank Spingola, an appointed acting Chairman will need to be voted on. Allen Morris made a motion to nominate Bryan Rogers, seconded by Kevin Thompson. A vote was taken and a motion was passed 6-0. CITIZENS COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS Residents may address Construction Code Board regarding an item that is not listed on the Agenda. Residents must provide their name and address. Construction Code Board requests that comments be limited to three(3)minutes. In addition, Construction Code Board is not allowed to converse, deliberate or take action on any matter presented during citizen participation. There were no citizens present to address the Construction Code Board during Citizens' Comments. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Consider, and act upon, approving the Minutes from the May 14, 2009 Construction Code Board meeting. Minutes—June 25, 2009 Construction Code Board Pagel Board Action A nomination was made by Allen Morris to approve the minutes as submitted. Board member Brian Parten seconded the motion. A vote was taken and a motion passed 6-0. 2. Consider, and act upon, request of a Sign Appeal Hearing from Mr. Aaron Lanman seeking an appeal of sign permit denial through a variance from 15 (fifteen) foot front property line setback requirement per Ordinance 2008-33 for Pediatrics Association of Wylie located at 501 Woodbridge Parkway. Board/Staff Discussion Plans Examiner, Dwight Lancaster explained the setback information stating that he denied the permit for lack of setbacks. He also stated he would suggest the Board approve the variance. Building Official McAnnally stated the sign would satisfy the ordinance that has been recommended to Council with a zero setback to the property line. Board Action A motion was made by Board Member Allen Morris and seconded by Board Member Bryan Rogers to approve the variance for Pediatrics Association of Wylie at 501 Woodbridge Parkway. A vote was taken and the motion passed 6-0. ADJOURNMENT With no further business before the Construction Code Board, a motion was made by Allen Morris, seconded by Kevin Thompson to adjourn the meeting at 7:36 p.m. A vote was taken and the motion passed 6-0.
