JANUARY 28, 1975
--- The Wylie City Council met on Jan. 28, 1975, at 7:00 P.M. in the
City Hall. Present thereat: Mayor Don Thomas, Councilmen Dodd,
Nall, Boyd, Martin and City Manager Woodard.
Mayor Thomas called upon various plumbers and electricians present
to comment on the electrical and plumbing codes of Wylie. A com
mittee of plumbers and electricians are to meet with City Manager
Woodard to make recommended changes to the codes for future approval
by the Council
City Manager Woodard and Water Superintendent W.A. Allen submitted
information concerning a street to the new high school and paving
of West Kirby. Council agreed to schedule grade work for high school
street provided school officials used lime stablized base and con-
crete surface. Mayor Thomas and City Manager Woodard are to meet
with city engineers to discuss drainage of W. Kirby prior to con-
struction of a permenant street.
R.D. Nance requestdd permission to construct an addition to the
front of the First Assembly of God Church at Birmingham and College
Streets. On motion by R.C. Dodd and second by K.C. Nall permission
was granted;
A letter from General Telephone Co. was read requesting the Councils
permission to place a rate increase into effect under bond while in-
formation from the company was studied. Motion made by R.C. Dodd
and seconded by Dwayne Boyd to deny request; was passed.
A bill for services rendered by Warrex Corporation was denied by the
Council due to a mistake in billing. Council agreed to allow the
Justice of the Peace to use space in the City Hall for hearings as
long as space is available.
There being no further business the Council adjourned.
