08-12-1975 (City Council) Minutes Pry r . REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 12, 1975 The Wylie City Council met in regular session in the Wylie City Hall on August 12, 1975, at 7:00 PM. Present were Mayor Don Thomas, Councilmen R. C. Dodd, Dwayne Boyd, William Martin and Stan Shively; City Manager Dennis Woodard, City Secretary Doris Wilson, and. Danny Clark of the Fire Department. Councilman Kenneth Nall was absent. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Thomas. First on the agenda was the approval of July Minutes and expenditures for August. Motion of approval was made by Stan Shively and seconded by William Martin. Passed by All Ayes. Dale Williamson, manager of Lone Star Gas Company presented a request for a residential and commercial customer rate increase. The request was for twenty cents per thousand cubic feet. The purpose of the increase is to pass on to the customers the cost the transmission company charges the distribution company. Motion was made by Stan Shively and seconded by William Martin to table the request until the next regular Council meeting. All Ayes. Resolution accepting Designation of the City Library as a Community Library was passed on motion by William Martin and seconded by Stan Shively. All Ayes. Bids were opened on the 1964 GMC Rescue Van used by the Fire Department. There were five Bids as follows: 1. Sam Eakins $125.00 without red lights 2. Pentagon Data 182.88 without red lights 3. Custom Trim of Wylie 215.00 without red lights 4. Mary Jane Corrion 302.00 without red lights 5. Murphy Fire Dept. 426.99 with red lights Motion was made by Stan Shively and seconded by R. C. Dodd to accept the bid by Murphy Fire Department. All Ayes. Departmental Reports were given by Danny Clark of the Fire Department and by City Manager Dennis Woodard. Council recessed to executive session to discuss obtaining real estate within the city. Mayor Thomas was authorized to proceed with negotiations. The proposed budget for 1975-76 was presented by the City Manager. After a brief question and answer period, the budget was tabled until August 19, 1975. The meeting was adjourned.
