Regular City Council Meeting

The City Council met in regular session on February 24, 1976
at 7:00 PM in the City Hall. Present were R. C. Dodd, Mayor
Pro-tem, Aldermen Kenneth Nall, Dwayne Boyd, William Martin,
City Manager Dennis Woodard, Fire Dhief Danny Clark and Mel
Delaney. Absent were Mayor Don Thomas and Alderman Stan Shively.
Mayor Pro-tem Dodd called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM and
ask that the Council review the recommendations of the Zoning
Board concerning a ranchette subdivision ordinance. Mel Delaney
stated that he felt the requirements for concrete streets were
too strong but otherwise the ordinance was good. Alderman
Nail moved that no action be taken until the ordinance was
drafted in its final form and all council members could study
it. Alderman Martin seconded the motion and it passed.
A committee report was made concerning the Fire Department request
to purchase a fire a, .arnt.system and build more. storage space.
Fire Chief Clark indicated that a storage building was given
first priority by the firemen. It was decided that more
plans were needed as to building size and financing.
Alderman Martin made a motion that a resolution be sent to the
Collin County Commissiomers Court requesting they appoint a
Justice of the Peace to replace Bobby King who resigned and that
Precinct seven not be abolished. Second was_ by Alderman Boyd
and the motion passed.
Approval was given to submit a bid for a maintainer to be
offered by Collin County. Bids to be opened March 3, 1976.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at
9:15 PM.
