02-10-1976 (City Council) Minutes Regular City Coucil Meeting
February 10, 1976
The City Council of Wylie met in regular session on February 10,
1976, at 7:00 PM in City Hall. Those present were Mayor Don
Thomas; Aldermen R. C. Dodd, Kenneth Nall, Stan Shively, Dwaynd
Boyd and William Martin; City Manager Dennis Woodard; City
Secretary Doris Wilson and Fire Chief Danny Clark.
The meeting was declared open for business by Mayor Don Thomas.
First item for consideratioiiwas. the.• approval,,of minutes of
January meeting and expe2iditutes for_ February. Motion for
approval was made by William Martin. Seconded by Kenneth
Nall. Vote of all ayes.
Motion was made by Stan Shively and second by R. C. Dodd to
appoint Kathy Elledge to the Wylie Library Board to replace Pat
Woodard, who resigned. Motion carried by vote of all ayes.
Fire Chief Danny Clark and other fire department officers were
present to present proposals on a new communications system and an
additional building for the fire department. Mayor Thomas
appointed a committee of Stan Shively,
William Martin and Dwayne Boyd to study the proposals and
report back to the council in two weeks.
Motion was. made by R. C. Dodd and seconded by Stan Shively to call
City Officers Election on April 3rd from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM at
the Methodist Church to elect two aldermen and Mayor and to
appoint P. M. Akin, if he consents, to be election judge with
him selecting three clerks. Motion carried on vote of all ayes.
City Manager Woodard gave reports on various subjects concerning
the city.
Motion to adjourn was made by William Martin and seconded by
Stan Shively. Passed Unanimously.
