SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
October 17 , 1978
7 : 00 P.M.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Akin, who also gave
invocation. Those present were Councilwoman Shirley Kent ,
Mayor John Akin, City Manager Denton Miller, Councilmen
Richard Parker, Curtis Ratcliff, Kenneth Swayze , Mayor Pro-
Tem Pat Minihan, Chief-of-Police Roy Randolph and City
Secretary Sarah Connelly.
Approval of Bids on Police Car. Mr. Miller presented bids
from suppliers to the Council . Suppliers submitting a bid
were : Lakeside Chevrolet , Carter Chevrolet and Fischer
Ford. Mr. Miller recommended the Council accept the lower
bid submitted by Fischer Ford in the amount of $5 ,998 . 00 .
After a discussion on performance of different makes of
cars , Councilman Ratcliff made motion to accept Fischer Ford
bid. Councilman Parker seconded. Motion carried all in
favor.
Council adjourned into executive session.
