City Council
May 15, 1979 --�
6 : 30 p .m.
Attending were Mayor Akin, Mayor Pro-Tem Roy Hall ,
Councilwoman Shirley Kent, Councilmen Don Hughes ,Rowland
Kreymer, Pat Minihan, City Manager Denton Miller, City
Secretary Sarah Connelly, Bob Hogan and Dennis Masters
representatives of Hogan and Rasor, Inc . , Mike Ashford
representing First Southwest , Walt Broemer and Rod
Goompie, representing Texas Intertribal Indian Housing
Agency. Citizens present were Billy Mills , Mr. and Mrs .
C . H. Starnes , Richard Parker, Mr. and Mrs . John Hatfield.
Invocation was given by Pat Minihan.
Dennis Masters explained the rate proposals . The water
rate would remain the same as ordinance that was in effect .
The sewer would have a $10 . 85 maxium on residential sewer.
Commercial $8 . 00 minimum with 5 , 000 gallons . Mobile Homes ,
Apartments , and duplexes with one meter a fixed rate of
$6 . 50 or $13 . 00 . After discussion over the rates Councilman
Minihan made motion to accept proposed rates . Mayor Pro-Tem
seconded. All in favor.
Mr . Walt Broemer of Texas Intertribal Indian Housing Agency
explained the program to the new Council . Councilman
Minihan made motion that the item be tabled for the Councils
Consideration at next meeting . Mayor Pro-Tem Hall seconded,
all in favor.
Mr . Ashford stated to the Council that the bonds could not
be sold until after the next audit , which at the earliest
date would be in November, 1979 , but that there was much
paper work for them to do . He went over procedure of
Financial Consultants and what information they would need
to proceed.
After a poll of the Council , Mayor Akin advised the Finan-
cial Consultants that the Bond Election would be held on
July 7 , 1979 .
Mr. Ashford commented to the Council that the rates adop-
ted by the Council would meet the requirements of NTMWD.
Mr. Miller went over the contract and resolutions submit-
ted by NTMWD. Councilwoman Kent made motion to adopt the
resolution of NTMWD. Mayor Pro-Tem Hall seconded. All
in favor.
Meeting adjourned into executive session at 8 : 20 .
Council authorized City Manager to buy 600 ft of chain
lin for $750. 00 from Mr. Raymond Cooper .
