11-13-1979 (City Council) Minutes City Council Regular Meeting
November 13, 1979
7:00 p.m.
Present were Mayor Akin, Councilmen Hughes, Kreymer and Martin, City Manager Tony
Franzen, City Secretary Connelly, City Attorney Kent, J.T. Duncan, Dennis Master,
Mike Schweikhard, Don Kreymer, Mike Beesinger, Roger Meier, William Martin, Chief
and Mrs. Randolph, Harold Evanson, and Dale Wolverton. Absent were Mayor Pro-Tem
Hall and Councilman Minihan.
Mayor Akin called meeting to order and gave invocation.
Public Hearing on Lone Star Gas Rate Increase. Mike Schweikhard met with the Council
to answer any questions Council or Public might have in regards to the increase.
There were no objections from the public.
Public Hearing Adjourned.
Councilman Martin made motion to approve previous minutes and monthly bills Council-
man Kreymer seconded, all in favor.
Dennis Masters, Hogan, and Rasor representative, brought Council up-to-date on "701"
Comprehensive Plan. Mr. J.T. Duncan explained the steps that would be taken in
completing the Master Plan and the time frame of about 2 years for completion.
Councilman Hughes made motion to adopt Ordinance setting Lone Star Gas Rates.
Councilman Martin seconded, all in favor.
Councilman Martin made motion to adopt Ordinance increasing Membership of Planning
and Zoning Commission from five members to seven, members. The new members being
John Seeley amd Don Kreymer. Motion was seconded by Councilman Hughes. All in favor.
Resolution was presented to Council for Former City Manager Dan Dodson. Council
recommended that a copy of resolution be forwarded to Duncanville newspaper and also
to the local paper.
Councilman Martin made motion to go with Chief Randolph's recommendations of having
Billy Nelson replace engine in 1975 Pontiac Patrol Car. Seconded by Councilman
Hughes. All in favor.
Mr. Harold Evanson came before Council to express his support of Police Dept. and
that more enforcement should be made on violations. He offered his assistance in
any way he could. He also urged the Council to be in full support of Police Dept.
Departmental reports were reviewed.
Council adjourned into executive session on motion made by Councilman Kreymer.
Seconded by Councilman Hughes, all in favor.
