Those present were Mayor John W. Akin, Mayor Pro Tem Roy Hall , Councilmembers Harold Eavenson, Don Hughes, Roland Kreymer, and William Martin. Also pre- sent were City Manager Lee Vickers and City Secretary Gail Wallace. Mayor Akin called the meeting to order and noted that no citizens were pre- sent. He called on councilman William Martin to give the invocation. The Mayor requested City Manager Vickers to explain the Public Utilities Regulatory Policies Acto to the City Council . The City Manager advised the City Council that Mr. William F. Condron, Texas Power and Light Company, had filed for entry into the record a presen- tation of Texas Power and Light Company concerning the provisions of the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978. That presentation is entered into the record and made a part of the minutes of this particular meeting. Mr. Mike Schweikhard, Lone Star Gas Company, also filed a statement from his Company to be entered into the record of the Council proceedings. The City Council discussed the presentations made by Texas Power and Light Company and Lone Star Gas Company and the complex and time-consuming process to be followed by the Texas Public Utility Commission. Mayor Akin indicated that he felt it best for the City to wait until a decision had been made by the Texas Public Utility Commission before the City Council should make a decision on the provisions of the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act , although the Council might conside,- further discussion of the two provisions discussed in the Lone Star Gas Company presentation at a meeting in December. Mr. Hall made the following motion: I move that consideration of the various utility ratemaking and other standards specified in the Public Utility Regu- latory Policies Act of 1978 be tabled until after the Public Utility Commis- sion of Texas considers same, at which time this City Council will schedule a hearing to consider those standards in light of the determinations made by the Public Utility Commission of Texas. The motion was seconded by Mr. Kreymer and was adopted by unanimous vote of the Council . There being no further business the meeting was adjourned. 14,1;;/1)/ John W.
