CALLED CITY COUNCIL MEETING
MARCH 14, 1983
7:00 P.M.
The Wylie City Council met in called session at 7:00 p.m. on March 14,
1983 in Council Chambers at City Hall . Mayor Squires presided. A
quorum was present and notice of the meeting had been posted for the
time and manner required by law. Those in attendance were the Mayor,
Mayor Pro Tem William Martin, Council members Harold Eavenson, Geline
Dodd, Reta Allen, and Percy Simmons, City Manager Lee Vickers, City
Secretary Sarah Connelly, Calvin Westerhof, Mark Martinez, Henry and
Elida Martinez, Lois Fuentes, John M. Martinez of Dallas, R. H. Gaston,
Mike McAnally, Catherine McAnally, David Engelmann, Bob O'Donnell , Ed
Collins, Melvin St. John, Harold Spence, Al Kittner, Tim Hemingway,
Harry Tibbals, Larry Jackson representing City as legal counsel , John
"Buddy" Newton and Albert Masters.
Discuss procedures for resolving issue regarding rezoning request for
mobile home park zoning on acreage south of Alanis and Martinez Lane.
Mr. O'Donnell , attorney for developers, briefed Mr. Larry Jackson,
legal counsel for City, on the events that had transpired up to this
time.
Mayor Squires called a recess for fifteen minutes at 7:45 p.m.
Meeting reconvened at 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Larry Jackson requested the Council allow him time to review the
matter and he would present them with a brief.
The developers requested immediate disannexation. The Council was
advised by Mr. Jackson that they could not do this at this meeting,
as there was no ordinance available for the disannexation of said
property.
Mayor Squires called a Special Council meeting for Thursday, March 17,
1983, at 8:30 p.m. , at that time the Council will consider ordinance
to disannex the 43.401 acre tract of land out of the Richard D. Newman
Survey, located south of Martinez Lane and Alanis Lane.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m. by motion 'om Councilman Eavenson,
seconded by Councilwoman Allen, all in fay. /
