04-04-1983 (City Council) Minutes SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
APRIL 4, 1983
5:30 P. M.
The Wylie City Council met in special session on April 4, 1983, at 5:30 P.M. in
Council Chambers at City Hall . Mayor Squires presided. A quorum was present and
notice of the meeting had been posted for the time and manner required by law.
Those in attendance were Mayor Squires, Mayor Pro-Tem William Martin, Council -
women Geline Dodd and Reta Allen, City Manager Lee Vickers, City Secretary
Sarah Connelly. Absent were councilmen Harold Eavenson and Percy Simmons .
Mayor Squires called meeting to order. City Secretary read the results of
the election. There were 484 votes cast in the April 2nd election. Candidates
received the following votes:
Dennis Kaufman 168
John W. Akin 279
Larry D. Prater 127
Randall Gaston 167
James "Don" Hughes 270
Calvin Westerhof 111
Cleo Adams 250
The results on the bingo referendum were:
For 247
Against 192
Councilwoman Dodd made motion to adopt Resolution 82-83-4-1 Order
Canvassing the returns and declaring the results of a City Election. Councilwoman
Allen seconded, all in favor.
Councilman Martin moved for adjournment. C ncilwoman Dodd seconded. All
in favor.
